Adding staff members

Go to Staff > Add Staff Member. Enter their name, email, phone number, and job title. Assign them to the services they perform by checking the relevant boxes. Each staff member gets their own login and can view their schedule, manage their appointments, and see their performance stats.

Setting individual schedules

Each staff member can have their own weekly schedule that overrides the default business hours. Go to Staff > select a staff member > Schedule. Set their start and end times for each day. If a stylist works Tuesday through Saturday while the salon is open Monday through Saturday, their schedule reflects that.

You can also set recurring schedule variations, like a stylist who works late on Thursdays. Add multiple time blocks per day to handle split shifts.

Time off and blocked time

Staff members can request time off from their dashboard. Go to Staff > select a staff member > Time Off > Add Time Off. Choose the dates and whether it is a full day or partial day. Approved time off blocks those hours from online booking automatically.

For ad-hoc blocks (lunch breaks, meetings, personal appointments), click on the calendar and select “Block time.” Enter a reason and duration. Blocked time appears on the calendar as unavailable.

Permissions and roles

Tresse has three permission levels: Owner, Manager, and Staff. Owners have full access to everything including billing and account settings. Managers can manage all appointments, staff schedules, and view reports, but cannot change billing. Staff members can view and manage their own appointments and clients only.

Set permissions when adding a staff member or update them from Staff > select a staff member > Permissions.

Commission tracking

If your salon pays commission, set each staff member’s commission rate from their profile. You can set different rates for services and retail. Tresse calculates commission automatically based on completed appointments and shows it in the staff member’s dashboard and in your payroll reports.
